The workers are nice and they take good care of the residents. They have a daily packet of information that comes with a list of all their activities all day. There's puzzles in there and a couple of stories to read. We achieve this through a detailed Care Consultation involving each client and their family. This FREE face-to-face assessment is completed by our Care Manager and typically takes place in the location where services are to be provided. This meeting provides an opportunity for us to best understand the client/families concerns and care needs.

Yet, they were wise enough to let me become more independent as I gained more use of my leg. I would also like to note that when I got home I was excellently prepared for the stairs and different activities that I was required to master. Lastly, I simply have great respect for their positive atmosphere. I never heard a patient, a nurse, a nurse’s aide, PT, OT or any other professional talk derogatory about anyone else there. I happen to love them, and every year when I see those bags show up in supermarkets, I feel a thrill of excitement knowing that the holidays are near. If you were lucky enough to grow up with homemade cranberry sauce, you know that the canned version is something that should be avoided at all costs. Not only is it filled with sugar and corn syrup, but as a nurse, the gelatinous blob reminds me of things that should not be spoken of at the dinner table. It's important to address that bad experience so that all the good that is done isn't overshadowed. I had that one bad experience with an aid and immediately called the person in charge. It was addressed so the remainder of my brother's stay remained positive. When you join Shift Med, you get to take control of your work schedule. His mom died there 2 years ago, and he was 104 years old. They loved it there, and I have been there too because I've volunteered there one time to do things for the people all the time. I wasn't able to try the food, but my man was, and he would go up there once a week. He would eat with his mom, and he always loved it, they always loved it. My neighbor was there last year and he loved it. They have activities, and we had a big party there once, invited different restaurants, and brought food for the people.

I love these people, even though at this time they were unable to help with my mother due to no fault of their own. They went above and beyond with calling me with names and numbers of businesses that could help me with my mother. They really cared which is so hard to come by in today’s society. Everyone that needs help with an elderly patient should call these wonderful caring people.

When my brother rang the bell, Stephen answered right away. Stephen helped my brother with his needs and always made sure he had fresh water and gave him a snack in the evening. I felt comfortable leaving the facility knowing that Stephen was the aid on duty. As in anywhere you go there may be that one bad experience you have.
I personally would be concerned if my loved one were there and would want to see the measures and changes that they are making to prevent patients from getting any infections. Talk to the staff and see what they are dealing with every day and you may find that there isn't enough help around to take care of the residents properly. This facility is absolutely clueless in caring for their patients. My mother came here temporarily as she was hospitalized for two months and needed intensive physical therapy.
In fact, my neighbor's mom is there right now. It's a shame none of us can visit right now, but that place is amazing. My husband died 3 years ago and I have a new man in my life.
